Shaunna Camacho, a staffer at John F. Kennedy High School originally identified as testing positive for COVID-19 by Department of Public Health & Social Services (DPHSS) speaks to Patti about re-testing with negative results, though according to Camacho, DPHSS refused to acknowledge it. Camacho alleges that when she asked DPHSS to re-test her, she was refused. Seeking a second opinion, Camacho sought out her primary care doctor who administered a Polymerase Chain Reaction test (PCR) which returned a negative test result for COVID-19. At a quarter into the interview, Dr. Tom Shieh (MD) joins the conversation in defense of Camacho, speaking on PCR testing being the “gold standard” of COVID tests, and contacting DPHSS on Camacho’s behalf.
