Westin’s Taste brings back Filipino favorites, including the famous “paluto”
Guam – It is Philippine Independence Month with celebrations going on all month long, but one celebration you won’t want to miss out on is on the celebration of Filipino food over at the Westin!
Everything at the Westin’s Taste restaurant is amazing. Just as I walked into the buffet, I felt like I was right in my province in the Philippines because of the aroma permeating my senses.
Its third year in a row putting together a Filipino lunch buffet special in honor of Philippine Independence, Westin’s Taste treats you to some Filipino favorites like kare kare, pinakbet, diniguan, tapsilog, palitaw, isaw and of course, how can you not have this, the late Chef Anthony Bourdain’s favorite, lechon.
But that’s not all there is to look forward to. This year, they’ve added a paluto station and every day, the chefs at Taste will also be featuring some new dishes.
“The concept is when you go into Philippines’ fish market, you see all the fresh fish and you go there you could choose a fish and the vendor you can just ask the vendor to cook it for you,” explained Westin Executive Chef Sean Jung.
And what is Filipino delicacy without trying the most famour delicacy from the Philippines, balut!
Last but not last, don’t forget about dessert.
“We have the puto, cassava, halo halo, kalamay, bibingka, maha blanca,” said Sous Chef Don German, adding that they will also have a rotation of different desserts every day of the week.
The special Filipino lunch buffet is this week only and ends on Saturday, June 16.
