FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GDOE FISCAL YEAR 2020 BUDGET STAKEHOLDER SURVEY

The Guam Department of Education (GDOE) has begun the process of preparing the Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 budget and is seeking input from the community.

GDOE would like to invite the community to participate in the FY 2020 Budget Stakeholder Survey. Parents, students, teachers and staff are encouraged to share their thoughts on the budget process by filling out the survey before the October 31, 2018 deadline.

“At a time when our department and government are facing fiscal challenges, it important that our stakeholders come to the table to share their views on how the budget process can be better aligned to the mission, priorities and needs of the department,” GDOE Superintendent Jon Fernandez said.

The survey seeks stakeholder feedback and suggestions in areas including capital improvement, equipment, supplies and personnel. Additionally, participants are able to provide other comments or suggestions they feel will be helpful to the budget process.

The survey is available online at www.gdoe.net, under “FY2020 Budget Stakeholder Survey”.

In addition to the budget survey, schools will be holding public hearings to obtain stakeholder feedback from their school communities, and will be publishing these public hearing schedules to encourage community participation.
