Spokesperson for Department of Public Health & Social Services (DPHSS), Janela Carerra speaks to Patti about the incoming COVID-19 vaccine, namely the Pfizer Vaccine, adding that the first shipment should be in this week. Despite the vaccine arriving on Guam, however, DPHSS must wait licensing from the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), and furthermore guidance from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) to detail what side effects may accompany the treatment. Carerra also speaks to the new ultra low temperature freezers her department has received meant to house and properly preserve the Pfizer Vaccine until distribution.
