Interim Chief Medical Officer for Department of Public Health & Social Services (DPHSS), Dr. Robert Leon Guerrero (MD) speaks to Patti about all things COVID-19, to include booster shots and continued efforts of DPHSS to forward the vaccination of Guam. On the topic of the Omicron Variant of COVID, Dr. Leon Guerrero gave his opinion, saying he felt it was likely already on the island due to it already being found in Hawaii. However, Dr. Leon Guerrero says that he does not expect as much of a surge in infection in the same fashion as we saw with the Delta Variant, citing Guam’s high vaccination rate and number of booster shots administered.
