Chief Medical Officer for Department of Public Health & Social Services (DPHSS), Dr. Felix Cabrera (MD) speaks to Patti about ‘six variants of concern’ found through COVID-19 testing at the Quarantine Facilities (QFAC), though preliminary test results show that community spread is not probable. Dr. Cabrera also emphasizes that the only defense against the growing amounts of COVID variants is full vaccination. On the topic of decreasing the age of eligibility, Dr. Cabrera says that not only has the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) approved the use of the Pfizer Vaccine on children ages twelve and up, but that island residents can begin taking their children to receive the vaccine as early as today.
