Director for Department of Labor (DOL), Dave Dellisola speaks to Patti about Guam residents slowly returning to the work force after having to file for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) for about a year. Although Dellisola feels it may be too early to do so, he also speaks about the ‘Job Search’ requirement that is imminent in order for PUA recipients to continue to see benefits, adding that he is awaiting Governor Lou Leon Guerrero’s guidance on the matter. Dellisola encourages all those still receiving PUA to begin planning to be completely off of financial assistance, further adding that Guam residents should capitalize on the free-time to build and sharpen new skills to ensure a smoother transition back into the work force.
